Hi She - I love this quote and I love your blog. I am not much of a blogger but plan to check on this one relatively regularly - so non committal! The relationship between a well-fed mind, body and spirit seems to me to be different for all of us. So finding one that works for us is truly a trial and error project and just when you think you've got it something you can't control jumps in and makes it necessary to change things up. It has only been in the last 8-10 years that I have begun to find and understand my personal balance. The basics do remain the same: good nutrition, challenging exercise, sleep - oh, and room for some indulgences here and there - feeling deprived has never worked out well for me.
ReplyDeleteAlways in search of new foods the delight the senses and help the body - my new favorite is micro-greens - all kinds - combined with some just-pulled-from-the-ground roasted, sliced beets and local goat cheese crema. The anti-inflammatory qualities of the beets helps my arthritis and the vitamins and minerals in both the micro greens and beets just make me feel good.
Have you tried Kale chips as a crunchy, filling and healthy snack?
Looking forward to reading about your progress in finding your perfect balance! Jay
Thanks for these comments Jay...my first! I have already discovered that It is important to keep the plan "fresh" and "flexible"...there are endless surprises to keep me on my toes and challenge me to keep to the plan of Lifestyle solutions for a longer view of living a healthy life. We have also discovered homemade Kale chips...very easy to make...just have to check your teeth after you eat them since they tend to stick to your teeth!:)
